Founded in 1882 by Baron Edmond de Rothschild in Rishon le-Zion and Zichron  Ya’acov. The winery has recently undergone upgrading with new filtration room and fermentation tanks.  Carmel now use winemakers trained in California and France to make full use of the new technology available to them.
